Saw service at Gallipoli, in Palestine and France. Returned to Australia 24 September 1918. Re-enlisted No 86413 in the AIF 24 September 1919 with age down 10 years for 'Special Service' arrived UK 12 December 1919, noted as being on 'indefinite leave on 17 February 1920. Married Beatrice Butt in Bath, UK, 8 January 1920.
