Service and life after the Boer War: Married in 1902 to Eva H Spooner nee Foster and had a son Alfred Thomas Watson (1904-1955) who was a Gunner in WWII. Walter saw service in WWI as no 149 - Corporal - Mobile Vet Section 1 - enlisted 25 November 1914 - unit embarked from Sydney NSW, on board HMAT A44 Vestalia 19 December 1914 - returned 20 November 1918 as a sergeant in the Australian Army Veterinary Hospital.
